एउटा सुकुम्बासी केटो
 उनी सात वर्षको हुँदा बाले छाडे । त्यसको झन्डै सात वर्षपछि आमाले । त्यसपछि यो खुला आकाश र फराकिलो पृथ्वीबाहेक उनीसँग केही बाँकी रहेन । अनि प्रकाश आङदम्बेलाई दुनियाँनै नाटकजस्तो लाग्यो ।
'त्यसपछि आमाको दुःख सम्झेर एउटा नाटक लेखेँ,' सत्र वर्षअघि तेह्र वर्षको छँदा 'अन्यायको अन्त्य' नाटक लेख्दाका दिन सम्भिmँदै उनले सुनाए, 'गाउँभरिका खाट, तन्ना मागेर स्टेज बनायौं । हुने खानेका घरबाट मैनटोल ल्यायौं र उज्यालो पार्यौं ।' नाटकमा उनले आफूले भोगेको समाज उतारेका थिए । बाले छाडेपछि आमाको इमानदारितालाई समाजले हेपेको कथा लेखेका थिए । त्यसैमा अभिनय गरेका थिए । दुखीलाई समाजले दिने दुःख नाटकमार्फत देखाएका थिए । त्यसले उनलाई प्रशंसा दियो ।
प्रकाशको त्यसपछिको जीवन नाटकझैं नाटकमै बितेको छ । झापाको स्नामतिमा जन्मे हुर्केका यी तीस वर्षे युवालाई अचेल लाग्छ, 'जिन्दगीमा के के हुन्छ ? र यो अनिश्चित जिन्दगीमा अझै के के हुन बाँकी छ ? यो एकबारको जुनीमा मनले चाहेको र ठीक ठानेको कुरा नगरी कसरी हुन्छ ?' त्यही भएर मनमा लागेको फ्याट्ट बोलिदिन्छन् । र, धेरैको छुच्चो बनेका छन् ।
'कसैसँग के लिनु दिनु छ,' मध्य पुसको चिसोमा काठमाडौंको बागबजारस्थित एउटा गेस्ट हाउसमा भेटिएका लिम्बू केटा बोले, 'सकेसम्म कसैलाई नराम्रो नगर्ने हो । त्यसो भन्दैमा कालोलाई सेतो भन्न त सकिन्न नि ? नत्र आफू हुनुको अर्थ के रह्यो ?'
भीडभाड काठमाडौंमा उनी यस्तै प्रश्नको उत्तर खोज्छन् । तर, काठमाडौंप्रति उनको कुनै गुनासो छैन । पछिल्लो एक दशकदेखि रंगमञ्चमा सक्रिय उनी नयाँ कुरा रुचाउँछन् । 'भएका त छँदैछन्, अरूले नगरेका नयाँ कुरा गर्नु पर्यो,' पूर्वका गाउँमा 'आँगन नाटक' प्रदर्शन गरिरहेका उनी भन्छन्, 'यो भारतका नाट्यकर्मी बादल सरकारले ल्याएको परिकल्पना रहेछ । मलाई नयाँ लाग्यो र हामी सुहाउँदो लाग्यो, प्रयोग गरेँ ।'
बादल सरकार भन्थे, समाजमा पहुँच नभएकालाई नाटक देखाउनु छ । उनीहरू टिकट काटेर नाटकघर आउन सक्दैनन् । कलाकारको दायित्व उनीहरूकै आँगनमा गएर नाटक देखाउनु पनि हो । 'यसो गर्दा दर्शकलाई नाटक गर्नेहरू हामीजस्तै हुन् भन्ने भान पर्दोरहेछ । गाउँलेकै कथावस्तु, आँगनको स्टेज र गाउँलेले सधैं प्रयोग गरिरहेको सामग्री नाटकमा प्रयोग हुन्छ,' प्रकाशले भने, 'भातका लागि पीठो चामल नपाइने गाउँमा घरैपिच्छे जाँड हुन्छ, यो ठीक वा बेठीक नाटकमार्फत देखाउनुपर्छ उनीहरूकै आँगनमा । कतिको खप्की पनि खानुपर्छ त्यसबेला ।' यस्तै खप्की र गाली खाँदै उनी पूर्वाञ्चलका गाउँ कुदिरहेका छन् ।
झापाको 'गन्तव्य थिएटर' मा सक्रिय झन्डै अढाई दर्जन युवामध्ये उनी अगुवा हुन् । पूर्वाञ्चलका स्कुल, शरणर्थी शिविर तथा गाउँ-गाउँमा उनी नाटकबारे चेतना जगाइरहेका छन्, नाटक देखाएर । यसबाहेक उनको परिचयमा गजलकार, कवि, कथाकारको विशेषण पनि झुन्डिने गरेको छ । 'जीवन त नाटकमै हो,' भूगर्भशास्त्रमा स्नातक उनले भने, 'नाटकमा सबैथोक छ कथा, कविता, जीवनी, उपन्यास सबै ।' त्यही भएर उनले पछिल्लोपल्ट लेखेका छन् नाटक कृति 'सृष्टि प्रलयको संघारमा' । जसमा मान्छेको सुन्दर सृष्टि र कुरूप विनाशका कथा समेटिएको छ । भन्छन्, 'नेपालमा नाटक लेख्नेले रंगमञ्च बुझेनन् जसले रंगमञ्च बुझे तिनले नाटक लेखेनन् । तर, कथा र उपन्यासलाई नाटक बनाउने हो भने विदेशी नाटकमात्रै गरिरहनु पर्दैन ।'
उनलाई लाग्छ, अब नयाँ लेखक जन्मिनुपर्छ । जातीय र सांस्कृतिक संकीर्ण मानसिकता त्यागेको लेखक । तर अहिले चलेको जातीय तथा सांस्कृति अधिकारको खोजीमा हुने बन्द हडतालले उनलाई त्यति प्रभाव पारेको चाहिँ छैन । 'देश हार्न लागेको बेला छ,' उनी अधिकार खोज्नेलाई भनिरहेका छन्, 'अधिकार सबैलाई चाहिन्छ, देश हारे कसैको अधिकार बाँकी रहन्न भन्ने पनि बिर्सनु हुन्न । अर्काको नाक घोचेर आफ्नो नाक जोगिन्छ ?'
यस्ता आन्दोलनभन्दा उनलाई प्रशंसादेखि डर लाग्छ । 'आलोचना रेती हो, त्यसले बोदो हतियार तिखार्छ । तर, प्रशंसाले व्यक्तिलाई भुत्ते पार्छ,' उनको मान्यता छ, 'तर यहाँ सही आलोचना गरेर धारिलो बनाउने भन्दा प्रशंसा गरेर सकेसम्म भुत्ते पार्नेहरू सक्रिय छन् ।'
कसैले उनलाई सोध्दा रहेछन्, नाटक गरेर देशका लागि के हुन्छ ? उनको सजिलो उत्तर छ, 'केही हुन्न, मैले देशका लागि गरेकै होइन ।' तर, उनलाई के चाहिँ प्रस्ट थाहा छ भने सिर्जना गर्नेले कसैलाई बन्दुक उचाल्न र विनाशका लागि उक्साउँदैन ।
